A leftover stump is more than an eyesore. It gets in the way of mowing, trips people up, and can even start sprouting new growth if left alone. Sukruddin Tree Felling offers stump grinding and full stump removal across Cape Town, clearing the area so you can actually use the space again.
Grinding or full removal?
Stump grinding removes the visible stump down below ground level using a grinder, it’s the quicker, more affordable option and works well if you plan to landscape or plant grass over the area. Full removal takes out the entire root ball, which is the better choice if you’re building, paving or planting something else in that exact spot. We’ll talk you through which makes sense for your situation during the on-site assessment.

Working around your garden
We work carefully around existing landscaping, irrigation and paving. If there are nearby trees or plants you want to keep, we factor that into our approach so the root systems you care about aren’t disturbed.
What happens to the debris
We clear the site once the job is done. Wood chips from grinding can be left for you as mulch if you’d like them, or removed along with the rest of the debris, just let us know your preference.
Stump removal after a recent felling
If we’ve just felled a tree for you, stump removal can be booked at the same time so the job is finished in one visit. If the stump has been sitting there for a while from a previous removal, that’s just as easy to book on its own, see our tree felling page if you also need a tree removed.
Areas we cover
We serve Cape Town and the surrounding suburbs, including Cape Town, Bellville, Durbanville, Milnerton and Table View, plus the surrounding suburbs. Add your address to the booking form and we’ll confirm we can reach you.
Getting a quote
Stump size, root spread and access all affect the job, so we give a clear, upfront price after a free on-site assessment rather than guessing over the phone.
