Scarborough is a small, remote coastal village close to Cape Point, one of the least developed and most naturally vegetated suburbs we cover. Fynbos dominates the landscape here even more than elsewhere on the South Peninsula, and large exotic trees are uncommon.
Given the proximity to protected natural areas, we’re especially careful with any work near reserve boundaries, and happy to advise on what’s appropriate for a specific property. Scarborough’s remote, undeveloped character means most properties have minimal planted garden trees, with natural fynbos forming the bulk of the surrounding vegetation.
Where a property does have planted trees, they’re usually specimen plantings rather than a larger garden, and we assess these individually against the surrounding natural landscape.
