Constantia is Cape Town’s oldest wine-producing valley, and it shows in the scale of the gardens, large estate properties, oak-lined driveways and mature trees that have often been growing for well over a century. This is some of the biggest, most established tree work we take on in the Southern Suburbs.
Properties here often border working wine estates or forest land, which means larger stands of trees and more substantial clearance work alongside individual tree removals. Given the age and size of many Constantia trees, careful structural assessment matters more here than almost anywhere else we work, decades of unmanaged growth can hide internal decay or root issues that aren’t obvious from a casual look.
The higher rainfall this part of the Southern Suburbs receives, similar to Bishopscourt and Newlands, supports genuinely large canopy trees, oaks, pines and other exotics that have had ideal growing conditions for generations.
